How Zupas Came to Life

Zupas was born from a simple belief: that fast food doesn't have to mean processed food. Founded in American Fork, Utah, our founders set out to create a cafe zupas experience unlike any other — a place where every bowl of soup, every crisp salad, and every sandwich was made fresh, in-house, every single day.

The Zupas Story So Far

From a single cafe in Utah to a beloved brand across the United States — here's how the zupas story unfolded.

2004

The First Bowl

Zupas opens its first location in American Fork, Utah. Founders serve homemade soups and hand-crafted salads to a small but passionate local crowd. Word spreads quickly through the neighborhood.

2007

Expanding the Menu

Guest feedback drives the launch of our full sandwich line and grain bowls. The cafe zupas signature Swiss Mushroom Bisque becomes a cult favorite, drawing guests from neighboring cities.

2010

Multi-Location Growth

Zupas expands to 10 locations across Utah, refining kitchen systems and supplier partnerships to maintain the same freshness standard at every new outpost.

2014

Going National

Zupas crosses state lines, opening in Colorado and Nevada. A national audience discovers what Utah has known for years — fresh, chef-inspired food at an accessible price point.

2018

Digital Ordering Launch

We launch our online ordering platform, making it easier than ever for guests to Order Now and pick up their favorite meals on their schedule. Mobile usage grows 200% in the first year.

2024
